The Hood Milk Bar
188 Union St, The Junction NSW 2291
Situated in Newcastle’s iconic junction precinct.
The Hood Milk Bar is a favourite for locals of Newy, serving up great coffee and food 7 days a week with a laid back urban vibe.
We started off with a couple of lattes, sitting over on the gelato bar styled benches, watching the Sunday brunch crowd flock in.
As the cafe is close to Merewether and just a couple blocks away from the popular cafe district of Darby St, it is a perfectly situated venue. Just as we were finishing off our delectable coffees, our meals were brought out to us.
The corn fritters came out with avocado, pickled zucchini and a beautifully placed poached egg; the tomato relish topped it off. Then came the sweet potato fritters paired with char broccolini, pickled veggies, a poached egg, chill jam and some fresh labna.
The presentation was outstanding and the rich flavours left you with mouth watering memories. The team at Cafe Culture Magazine definitely recommend The Hood Milk Bar for the best fritters in town and a pretty damn good cup of coffee.
