Most coffee lovers make a morning pilgrimage to seek out the coffee they crave.
They don’t go far, normally to the same old place, and if they’re not at home, they cross their fingers that they’ll find a good brew. But one coffee lover set out on a pilgrimage for good coffee, that would take him all over the world – The Roaster Guy.
The Roaster Guy represents the journey to source great cofee. Our blends were inspired by the highlands in PNG, the countryside in India, the fields of Ecuador and the rolling hills of Mexico and Colombia.
If there were coffee beans to be found, we were going there. We not only sourced the beans, but also listened to the locals and learnt what good coffee means to them.
Of course, every one of us has a bit of The Roaster Guy in us. We’re all on a journey, wandering through life collecting memories and tips to take onwards. It’s the journey that makes us who we are, and the same goes for our coffee.
Because we are all different and have all been on different journeys, it seemed only right that The Roaster Guy’s blends are diverse in nature:

Merchant’s Vice
Everywhere we went we realised that all of us are trading something, negotiating and even socializing. So we wanted to create a coffee for the times that you mean business. Merchant’s Vice will keep you focused, relaxed and in the moment. With low acidity and juicy burnt caramel notes, it creates a multi-sensory experience. Aromatic with a beautiful sweet after taste to leave you ready for more. Merchants sold us the beans in Brazil, Colombia and India.
Traveller’s Pick
Every guest in a hotel is travelling to or from somewhere. Even local customers, foot traffic or regulars will be travelling somewhere. Traveller’s Pick is created to be the perfect companion for people who truly appreciate the balance of bitter and smooth that coffee and life throw at us. Straight up black it has a light body with smooth lingering smoky notes. A hint of fruit and malt balances the acidity. Our beans were picked from Brazil, India and Papua New Guinea.
Wanderer’s Brew
Wanderers were the original early adopters – they went out into the world and brought back new things for the rest of us to try. This blend is created specifically for the sophisticated palate of the wanderer. This roast is light on the palate, soft with a mild, lovely aftertaste. It’s the perfect citrus finish as a black coffee or nutty when white, and very approachable. The beans in here wandered back from Brazil, Colombia, India and Tanzania.
Well-travelled and well-meaning coffee
Yes, we travelled the world to perfect our coffee, but we wanted to make sure that we gave back more than we took, to the places that we visited. Sustainability is important to Nestlé Professional, that’s why we are working towards buying all the coffee for our three The Roaster Guy blends from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ Farms by 2023. At Nestle Professional we are proud to have converted 35% of the beans in our three The Roaster Guy blends to Rainforest Alliance Certified ™Beans.
‘So far we have converted 35% of the beans in our blends to Rainforest Alliance Certified ™Beans.’
The Rainforest Alliance is an international non-profit organisation operating in more than 60 countries, including the ones where we source our coffee. It seeks to create a better future for the local people by promoting human rights, and also seeks to protect their environments.
