Your coffee machines group head seal should be changed quarterly or at the very least twice a year.

Cafelat have developed group head seals made from 100% food grade FDA silicone. Unlike regular group head seals that are made from rubber these do not have any smell or taste whatsoever and are easy to change as they don’t not bake rock hard like rubber does. These Cafelat silicone seals have the same compression strength as rubber, but are softer so that it is easier to create a good seal.

Majority of the E61 group heads made these days are very similar and machine manufacturers will use either an 8mm or an 8.5mm group seal.
